Lucille and I have been reading a lot about BATUS over the last couple of days and thought you might want to check out this website.  It’s hard to explain what BATUS is, where it is, what’s there, where we might be living, what facilities are available etc so this should give you a better idea of what we are letting ourselves in for:

If you really want to get into the weeds,you can click on the pre arrivals information booklet which is full of useful stuff about living in the middle of pretty much nowhere!

As for moving dates, the 2011 exercise programme has now been drafted and having spoken to the guy I am taking over from it seems that 27 June 2011 is the best time to start the handover which means we will fly to Canada about 2 weeks before to take over the house and settle in.

We’ve also added some photos of BATUS from Jonathan’s visit in June and a British Army video which will also give you an idea of the place.
