I’d love to tell you all about the exciting time we’re having on the road, but unfortunately, as expected, yesterday was a long day with lots of driving. On a more positive note we did make it to Spokane in time to do a bit of shopping! It was a hot journey though. We stopped at the Running Horses viewpoint and the outside temperature was 98F – phew! The highlight was the breakfast stop, as you can see from the photo, it wasn’t something we said aloud with a minor in the car
The shopping was a success for all. Granpops bought Granny an iPad (with a pink case) and we bought a new tv for Fernie. You can’t beat Best Buy, especially when the sales associate gives you an extra discount and doesn’t charge you the 8% sales tax!
Our bed for the night was a cheap and relatively cheerful Motel 6. If I’m honest I was a little concerned when we first arrived and the reception was in the process of calling the police to evict a couple of drunken guests, but the night passed without incident but also without much sleep! Pillows at Motel 6 are a rare commodity and they don’t have any spare ones, so unfortunately Jonathan rested his head on a combination of the bag of dirty laundry and a flat pillow.
We’re now on the last part of our journey to Fernie, crossing the state line between Washington and Idaho, heading up the I-95 to the border and then east on the 3.

Just found part four, after reading 5 and 6 ! Loved the pics of Jack and Ollie on the beach – did you ever get a fish to eat Jonathan ! Enjoy your time in Fernie – take care and hope to hear from you soon. Mum x
I see Ollie thinks the ground could do with a bit of a watering. Good Lad!
Did you have the Burrito?
I hope you’ve done a typo in the report or have you gone a bit too far East 🙂 I’ve been on the I-95 when I was doing New York to Boston.
Have fun.
